Vitamins and Minerals
Everyone knows that vitamins and minerals are important to our health. But are there health benefits to increasing our vitamin intake beyond the minimums required by the body, as codified in the RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance)? There is good evidence that a diet low in B-vitamins, Vitamin D, Vitamin-C, magnesium, selenium and copper contributes to various diseases (beyond the well known deficiency diseases), as is a high intake of iron dangerous. I recommend buying the multivitamin brand to the right, which is WITHOUT iron, but including the B-vitamins which, in addition to many other benefits, also lowers blood Homocysteine. Do not take vitamin-C in the "Ester-C" form.
