Regarding
microwave ovens: Many in the alternative health community feel that microwaved food is dangerous. Because it heats unevenly and may denature certain nutrients, I certainly wouldn't recommend microwaving breast milk in order to thaw it or warm it. I personally feel that microwaved food is generally less appetizing than conventionally cooked foods. However, I have yet to find any real evidence that microwaved foods are especially toxic or otherwise harmful. If you know of evidence beyond the Hertel claims, please let me know. One should ensure that their microwave oven is not leaking microwave radiation.
